About Fischbach (Friedrichshafen) on Lake Constance
Fischbach is located where Lake Constance merges with the horizon. So impressive is the view of the beautiful natural landscape, the glittering lake and the boats on the horizon. It is a paradise for couples, families with children, bon vivants and active vacationers. There is so much to do here that we can only present you a small selection.
For families
Friedrichshafen is not called Zeppelin City for nothing. In the Zeppelin Museum you can follow in the footsteps of the most famous airship, the LZ 129 Hindenburg. There are experiment stations for young and old explorers. And if you still haven't had enough, you can book a Zeppelin flight over Lake Constance from the Lake Constance Airport - an unforgettable experience. On Salem Monkey Mountain, around 200 Barbary macaques live in a 20-hectare forest - completely free and without enclosures. So you can watch the impressive animals on your walk and feed them with prepared popcorn. The Ravensburger Spieleland can be reached after a short drive and is also an attraction for small children. Many familiar faces await you in Käpt'n Blaubärs Wunderland, the Mouse and Elephant Erlebniswelt and in BRIO World. High up is the adventure park Immenstaad - a climbing park for the whole family with kids courses for little adventurers. From Immenstaad you can go on a pirate tour on the faithfully reproduced ladine St. Jodok. And if you need a break after so many adventures, you will find the opportunity to relax in the thermal pool at Strandbad Fischbach. While you relax with bubble loungers, massage jets and neck showers, the kids can let off steam in the play paradise with its large children's pool and play area with mud and digging area. A modern sports and leisure pool has also opened in Friedrichshafen. Here you have direct beach access to Lake Constance, a swimming pool with waves, a current channel and much more. In any case, you can easily spend a whole day here.
For active vacationers
It is almost impossible to do nothing at Lake Constance. Lake Constance is simply a paradise for active vacationers. There is a wide range of sports on offer: tennis courts, golf courses and soccer fields can be found in the immediate vicinity. Water sports are offered in all variations: via water ski, canoe or on the stand up paddle board you can move across the lake. You can bike for hours along the flat shore of Lake Constance or hike through the vineyards. Directly from the St. Vitus church a comfortable circular hiking trail leads into the hinterland of Fischbach, along the Brunnisach river, past the old oak mill, meadows and fields and with a view of the alpine panorama. Mountain bikers will find a wide range of tours in different levels of difficulty. On the Königsweg, the tranquil lakeside path from Fischbach to Friedrichshafen, named after Wilhelm I, you can stroll leisurely past the Graf Zeppelin House, pass the imposing Schloss-Steg and admire Friedrichshafen Castle.
For gourmets
If you don't want to be active on Lake Constance, you can let a boat take you across the lake. For example, you can take a catamaran from Friedrichshafen to medieval Constance, where there is a Sea Life including the Lake Constance Nature Museum. There is also a car ferry from Meersburg to Constance. A visit to the famous flower island of Mainau with its unique blossoms, a botanical garden, palm house and butterfly house should also be on your list of activities. For children, there is an additional children's paradise in Mainau-Kinderland. And if you want to end the day on a pleasant note, you can go wine tasting in one of the surrounding wineries.
